DON'Ts
  • Do not nclude personal interests or hobbies in your CV. (The viewer may not like them)
  • Do not include a photograph.
  • Do not include health matters or any disabilities you have.
  • Do not include any trade union or political affiliations.
  • Do not show your existing salary or expected salary.
  • Do not under value your experience. Demonstrate how and why they have given you useful skills.
  • Only List any other skills if they are relevant to the employers needs
DO's
  • Make sure the spelling is correct. Check it through a word processor such as Microsoft Word.
  • Keep sentences and paragraphs short.
  • A CV should be no more than 3 pages long.
  • Tell the truth.
  • Be specific, factual, give full details and provide evidence if requested.
  • Only include recent jobs, CV-generator allows only five to be entered.
  • When entering jobs, include details which illustrate how they have given you the skills which will be useful to the employer.
  • Work out what qualifications, experience, and skills that are required for the job.
